How I make sense of the American Way of Life". You should address some specific examples of US practices (government, capitalism, birth, health care, economic inequality, food, energy) and connect them to each other and to deeper underlying patterns.
Do you think you live the American way of life? do you think you can handle the messages/aspects that the American life throws at us each an everyday as we wake up ? Do you well do you No! The only way I say to live the the American life is do what you want be aware of your surroundings and learn from mistakes, be healthy, live happy. Although it does depends on the person because people who make bad decisions might see that their life is more simple and like to like to struggle than to have everything easy or handed to them. Here are some of examples of what is involved in the American life and how to live an American life, for those who know or are confuse on what American life means, the first example of what American life contains is I would say health care, without the proper health care coverage/insurance i would say you will have a hard time adapting to the American culture because if you don't have something to cover you when you are sick or hurt the benefits would be very limited to what you have access to. With so much in society, living in a world full of media messages being thrown to you because of the world wants your money by the time you u get everything together u will be broke. Health care is very important benefit to the American life if you don't have health care people look at you as if your not a full American, when i think of health care i think that's a key benefit you have to live for not necessarily but it would be best. Some of the benefits that branches off health care is employment, working conditions, occupations in industry. All these benefits cover health care that's why it's so important to have. Therefore you know whats associate with the American life health care is one of them.
As in the following example we are clear that Health care plays a big role in American life, but so does the Government how you feel about the government now? I feel that George W. Bush screw us over meaning the government, we as the people. Making it harder for Barrack Obama a to recover from bush problems. We as the people recently elected Barrack Obama for the president of the United States Of America. I'm glad that things turn out the way they did and was able to come to an agreement. Barrack Obama is more about this change he's going to bring to the US and how this change would help benefit in years of progress he makes. The government has many aspects to take care of, Barrack obama is like our mother he decides whats best and and whats not and we as the people are going to follow up on his decision although there are many people who didn't vote for Barrack and wanted MC Cain there opinions didn't matter when he came down to the final vote. This idea of American life is simple, you have some one powerful that he's/she's confident that would make change and settle down for new ideas new opinions. On the other hand I feel like Government can mean anything in the American life if there a problem you fight for what's right until it gets dismiss. In spite that world is full of problems you cant expect for the president to fix everything but at least the majority of what we got into.
As follows I think food plays an very important aspect to the health of our fellow Americans

Collapse Assignment 1
During the times of the eastern island, I find that little population that lived there was able to survive without any machinery objects to help them build shelter and useful resources they could use to benefit. I find that very interesting because in relation to our civilization if you was to take something we were very obligated to its like our life is over, when comparing to eastern islanders they had no electronics no healthy food production no dental care so their teeth had allot of cavities and etc. My point towards to how the eastern islanders
adapted to their majority land process is that I think when they divide them selves using liberation as key term to represent there actions. In spite that the two groups were separated called commoners and chief's were powerful, I think instead of being departed I think as if they should become one as a whole and went about the situation but instead it wen the opposite way.
Another example that showed interesting points leading to how it is compare to the United States of America. In the year 1950 the world had the largest exponential growth within the oil production, we meaning U.S we were the largest country to export and produce oil. Here is an example of what I mean In a 1999 speech Cheney gave while still CEO of Hallucination, Cheney stated: “By some estimates, there will be an average of two-percent annual growth in global oil demand over the years ahead, along with, conservatively, a three-percent natural decline in production from existing reserves. That means by 2010 we will need an additional 50 million barrels per day that's CRAZY.
So overall investigating through these topics of what i found most interesting i would say everything cause everything that happen within was cause by the collapse and i just think it's interesting to how and what people did to keep them moving into there daily lives. I wouldn't have expected any human being to survive off such little. The things people do in order to survive without the help from any tools that's how you know you can survive and live a meaningful life.

Final Food Assignment
People in the world today, are consuming foods from all over but mainly getting it from the factories, not noticing what there food has been through to make it there in front of them with the knowledge from our classes reading books and looking at videos I was able to realize how this food production really works and is it really healthy NO it isn't, but we as Americans eat it anyways. When we eat our food we never take time out and realize where it comes from who hands were on it last what animal did it come from and so on. I think that if people were to realize and seek the amount of information i was during this semester they would definitely change their eating habits on how they eat. During the course of the semester i came with full knowledge thinking my food is good and healthy but at the end i was able to realize my food was bad , society makes chicken and other foods look so good by advertisements in the media and make commercials displaying the pros about it never the cons if you notice everything is just roses and flowers not to mention the businesses that sells and makes these advertisements and draws society in to help them grow in and stay in power and wealthy.
According to Myth three Industrial food is cheap for example "In America, politicians, business leaders, and the media continue to reassure us that our food is the cheapest in the world. They repeat their mantra that the more we apply chemicals and technology to agriculture, the more food will be produced and the lower the price will be to the consumer. This myth of cheap food is routinely used by agribusiness as a kind of economic blackmail against any who point out the devastating impacts of modern food production". In other words this myth has been use to make another excuse to why our food production is bad my opinion to this quote is that we should not spend millions of money towards these factories to make a whole bunch of unhealthy food it should go to something way healthier and safer to eat. Industrialization factories are bad after watching the movie "Meatrix" I was able to see the truth about our agriculture and how we role and what we do to about farms and how to make money off of them.
Based upon our refrigerator and freezer I bet half the people in our culture doesn't know where they food came from. In society there will always be social class status no matter what! because if you look deeply based upon supermarkets, look at different boroughs see how clean the supermarket is compare to a supermarket in Manhattan or a white neighborhood where all the white people go there is a major difference to they people serve us, living in the Bronx or Queens or Brooklyn, the supermarket aren't that clean, also look at the prices of certain stuff we buy its real cheap. As a trip in class we went to a supermarket and analyzed everything based upon the expensive of the product or calories or where it was place, come to find out all the high expensive food was on the top all the cheap stuff was at the bottom that's crazy! but hey living in the agriculture today i mean what do you expect. People should take within on the structure of how supermarkets are made with the neighborhood and realize the food in them are bad especially if you don't know the history. this semester made me change my eating habits not saying i m going to be a vegetarian but I m going to look closely into what i m eating cause i m not the one who is suffering the animals are.
People need to be more aware of what they're eating and be more educated about whats happening to these animals. Maybe many Americans should stop eating from places where they treat their animals cruelly because there are some companies that actually buy their meat from places who treat their animals un-cruel. Once again I feel we as humans should educate ourselves about where are food as come from and whet we are eating and educate other Americans as well because once person changing makes a huge difference in a period amount of time and how healthy our body becomes.

Food # 8 - Industrial Food
After looking at the video on animal cruelty, a few people around me extended their facial expressions in a disgusting manor as if that they want to stop eating meat because of the video. Although I think I was just as affected by the video an from known experiences by this chicken spot around my way where they cut off the chicken heads and clean them so from looking at the video and walking pass the chicken spot every now then i was able to see and hear the violence that goes on between the animal and human mind is sick but got to face reality hey! you gotta do what you gotta do
Looking at how they treat the chickens and cows last but not least the pigs are just crazy how they hang them, choke them and slice them open. As we eat our food today our least worry is about where it came from? who make sure that any chemicals or pesticides touch our food last? or which human being cruelty abuse the animal that we are forcing into our mouths? aspects like this are not our first intentions to when we are starving.
What we should encounter is that every animal is born to experience life with human nature and provide a family like any other human. However since our food comes from animals they don't experience that life because their life is taking away so easily and so that we can be full. That's why many people become vegetarian because the cruelty that's animals go through just to make our stomach full aren't worth the bite. So they stay away from meat, which is contradicting the dominant food ways around us and the way we eat. Looking at the Meatrix video what i was able to take from it was that in the mid 20's the greedy agri-culture was able to stay in power and we in charge of the factory farms which meant destroying farms that were there growing food the right way, but since corporate messages are such meaningful to us and how each of us once to stay on top. When we do wrong things we hope for good in the long run but it all comes down to the cruelty to the animals. The corporate messages had an impact on the greedy argi culture by having them take over farms and turning them into cruelty shops, not to mention since the agri-culture was greedy they thought as if they could benefit allot of money that comes in and out of there company of making food that we enjoy till this day.

Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan Response
In the book Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan he reflects on many points such as the C-4 plan and how corn is a relationship and how they have ethological detectives to check up on the food. Based upon me reading a couple of few pages within the book I was able to realize that half the stuff we eat comes from corn. Half the stuff we eat today we really don’t question into detail where it comes from? What truck or tank basically smashing the ingredients of our food up? Who touches it first when we eat food we never think the real hardcore facts about our food and it think we should. The point where Michael. P talks about how naturalist judges the super market is very true cause if you were to put your self in a naturalist shoes based on the super markets and the food we eat today they would not like it cause everything is made with oil which is bad for you especially how fast food restaurants uses it.

Internet Research
From the website: http://www.helpguide.org/life/fast_food_nutrition.htm
Healthy fast food: Sub sandwich chains
Healthy fast food: Sub sandwich chains Americans love all types of sandwiches: hot, cold, wrapped, foot long. Usually eaten with a salad instead of fries. The ads promote the health benefits of sandwich shops. Easier said than done... studies have found that many people tend to eat more calories per meal at a sub shop than at McDonald's. This may be because people feel so virtuous eating “healthy” like the ads promise, that they reward themselves with chips, sodas, or extra condiments.
You can make healthier choices at a deli or sub shop but you need to use some common sense.
Subs, Sandwich and Deli Choices
Less healthy choices
1. Foot-long sub
2. High-fat meat such as ham, tuna salad, bacon, meatballs, or steak
3. The “normal” amount of higher-fat (Cheddar, American) cheese
4. Adding mayo and special sauces
5. Keeping the sub “as is” with all toppings
6. Choosing white bread or “wraps” which are often higher in fat than normal bread
Healthier choices
1. Six-inch sub
2. Lean meat (roast beef, chicken breast, lean ham) or veggies
3. One or two slices of lower-fat cheese (Swiss or mozzarella)
4. Adding low-fat dressing or mustard instead of mayo
5. Adding extra veggie toppings
6. Choosing whole-grain bread or taking the top slice off your sub and eating it open-faced
Based on this website we could realize what is healthy and what is not healthy because it gives us a list on what us Americans usually buy when it comes down to subway sandwiches that I like so much and now that I know I what is healthy so i can live a meaningful life.

24 HOUR FOOD JOURNAL
It's 5:00 am in the morning I m waking up for school you probably wondering like dam that's too early to wake up for some school, well I know i hear it all the time I get up take a shower once I get dress I eat breakfast it is now 6:00 am I go in the kitchen and make an bacon egg and cheese on the bagel to start off my day I know that sounds like allot but its really good once I leave to go to school I always take an fruit to eat when I get to school it's about 6:30 I get on the train time fly by so fast i arrive to school it is now 8:30 in Mr. Manley class as I take out my apple and munch on it everyone looking but the juice from the apple taste delicious.
Its crazy cause once I eat I get hungry once again after like and hour my doctor says i have fast metabolism but i don't see how cause when i eat its not like i m active i real relax and just taking it slow so i don't see how. I cant wait till lunch as i hear my stomach make noise mumbling and growling.
It is now 12:30 I hang out in front of building for a little an then rush to get some food usually I go to subway because it a good way to start the afternoon with some healthy meal such as letus, tomato, cucumber, bread, sauce, and more I usually order chicken terayaki with an Italian bread letus and cucumber which is good I got a variety of different stuff but just can't leave the chicken alone. I otice that I order this allot because i don't want to order nothing that might not satisfied my taste buds like I want it to.
Chicken has become a part of my life because i've became very habitual to it i consume it so many years that pretty much everything i eat has to do with chicken but hey as long as i enjoy the meal that whats matter.
It's 3:10 on my way home from school I order a large fries from McDonald's before i get on the train so i can maintain my hungriness its about 5:30 once I get home i take a nap until it's time for dinner which is like 7:00 because that the time when everyone gets home from work. My grand mother home cooking so she can provide a good meal to satisfied us before we officially go to sleep and prepare for the next day.
TIME FOR DINNER 7:00 pm
dinner is serve spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread.
My family doesn't follow the traditional habit of having dinner all together, even though we would like to but it doesn't happen because that's not what we do. We all go in separate rooms watch TV talk have different conversations rather its a topic on what happen during school or at the job jokes that we heard or not we just a typical family who love each other and get along without an fight.
I got to sleep and the CYCLE STARTS AGAIN

MAY DAY
I never once heard about May Day until this assignment because I never hear any one talk about or celebrate it come to find out its a holiday that is celebrated in a few different origins of the world such as Europe,Finland,Greece,Ireland,United kingdom,England,Scotland,France,Germany,Americas, Noticed that none of the origins are listed with North America ( United States) because we as Americans don't celebrate it. A similar holiday close to May Day is Labor day is day where people take off and celebrate meaning BBQ and food and get together with family and friends. This is a way we Americans celebrate and have a good meaningful life is by celebrating holidays that are known to us. With all the knowledge we learn everyday I think we should at least know about may day and how important it is to other countries rather than to us, I believe it's important to know a little about the holiday which i m glad i did this assignment.
Worker's holiday first occur in Australia in 1856 s a celebration of the social and economic achievements of the international labor movement. May Day is most common by having organized street demonstrations and street marches by millions of working people and their labor unions throughout most of the countries of the world fighting and protesting about the 8th hour day instead of 12.
The American life is basically live free die hard or work hard and never give up there are many aspects in the American culture that brings up these aspects to live long, and the only way to do that is if was to do that is to good school, work, eat healthy and support family and friends. That's living a meaningful life.

Grocery Store and Habitual Food
When my family go grocery shopping my grandmother usually by a variety of stuff vegetables, fruits, nuts and all types of spices. So that everyday out the week we can switch up our meals throughout the week. In order to live more meaningful a good way to start is to experience different types of food and experience different types of flavors with our 5 taste buds. I notice that once I try things I usually don't eat I seem to enjoy it more because i m so use to being consume to like chicken rice but once my grandmother switches up the meal i enjoy it better.
The store that my family usually shop at are called Associate or Stop and Shop, these types of grocery stores push there food by having sales, different types of discounts on different foods handing out news paper. One way stores push particular types of products is by having yellow posters or just bright colors to catch our attention in our eye sight, or having the price of the product in a large font so our face expression can drop and be like wow that's cheap so we can buy it. Another way that I notice that stores try to sell their product is by having people test out there food before they decide to buy it, that's a way of bringing in the customers. I believe that's a good way of making your product known when i m in a mall with a food court inside i always test the food out to decide rather if it's good or not. Even though every cook in massive oil but hey That how many corporate message are found on each individual because we listen to what corporate has to say and we do it.
After every meal I eat I always drink water after because that's a way of cleaning your body after all the food as been enter. I really don't depend on a diet pattern because I m not trying to loose weight i m most likely trying to gain weight. So what I do if I don't eat I usually drink a nutriment drink to replace a meal for the day and they having very good types of flavors to choose from to making a good meal such as vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana a very good choice variety if you switch up.

"Exhibition Style Paper"
What came up in class that I thought that was so interesting was that “Andy said what do you think Barrack Obama is going to say or what do you expect him to say and lastly what do we want him to say?"
Throughout many of the speeches that Barrack Obama gave was all about the word “WE the people” or “as I stand here today we will change America with the help from we”
I think that change has come to America ever since Barrack Obama was elected for the president that was a huge accomplishment ever since Martin Luther king had a dream. Even though with out the help, from martin lither king we wouldn’t be in school of the future, sitting here sharing our opinions among with each other so even though MLK fought to solve for segregation he also fought everyone to make a change and that is where I think Barrack Obama took a lead because he believe that America could change with the help from everyone. Back in the 60’s as an African American we were highly treated with no respect, where we struggle to live another day, at one point we couldn’t even vote it was strictly racist, encountering that everyone has a voice, back 60’s it almost seem like our voice didn’t count cause we were black but as I stand here today using the words from Barrack Obama as young African American 18 year old and a first time voter I am proud of the progress that has been made and I think from the help from everyone voting really set a unite feeling to set a mood that we are and we will make a change.
Barrack Obama plays a significant role in the corporate messages. His inauguration speech was was well written because he spoke well and fluently about how we as Americans are bound to make this change in the world. The general facts that we are given from his speeches are that he's willing to what ever it takes to show progression. The importance that we are able to finalize from his speeches is that he is trying to make change for the better and is trying to support and help people in poverty. In a way he is another Martin Luther King because Martin Luther King supported the same things Obama is trying to support. With the support from so many people we were able to gain national unity to become this stronger society, people from all over the world goes to Washington D.C to create this feeling that makes us all feel like we can do something differently no matter what it is. An example of this would be the inauguration. This was a commitment that Barrack Obama had promised the world, he promised the United States that there would be change with the support from foundations, programs, and people who put there heart and soul to push this idea of change. With this idea of change people believe that things will get better as time progresses, but what some people dont understand is that the change wont come as quick as they want it to because for good things to happen it takes time and help from everyone not only one person.
Martin Luther King Jr. was the leader of the civil right movement he had a big impact in our lives and how we see things today, it makes us as the people think more deeply on how the world would be if Martin Luther King didn't didn't do things he felt he needed to change. He thought there shouldn't be no more segregation and that we should come together and make one. Martin Luther King felt as if no matter what color you were we should unite and come together. Martin Luther King had on an influence on many people prime example Barrack Obama. Martin luther King speech about I have a dream, is very meaningful to many lives today including mines. If you notice the media always play the speech from i have a dream what the media don't know is that the 10 min before i have dream is what makes up the whole speech.
Throughout life we all individuals trying to find the right path to live a meaningful life with the help from holidays, traditional beliefs, rituals, religions and more, we are able to come to together and help each other succeed. We questions ourselves ever day what makes us happy or what can we do differently to enhance our lives to make it more meaningful thirdly if i go shopping would this make my life more meaningful, all types of aspects pops up in our head but the fact is that we should over come obstacles and just live our life. To be part of the American life it's an obligation to celebrate holidays that we enjoy the most or even more so that we hate but still try to focus on the positive side. with the help from holidays its just another way to bring coporate and marginal message into pop culture
Black Friday post
On the day of Black Friday I did not shop, only because this year I really didn’t want anything, I felt that I had everything I wanted. So waking up in the morning fighting to get in line was not a concern for me. Our culture rituals are that when stores have major sales its means time to shop till you drop. For some people this day is an important day because it gives them a chance to buy stuff they couldn't’t afford before but since black Friday is full of sales people are able to buy what they want. Black Friday is an obligation for some people and that’s what makes there life more meaningful having something they always and finally buying it a price they thought they couldn’t buy before. Remember we live in a world full of consumers so making money and spending money is cultural ritual for them. Last year, black Friday I did shop It felt meaningful because it was great experience and I was able to get what I wanted for the time being. So we are able to see a pattern when there is something you always wanted and black Friday drops the price down your bound to become apart of the consumers team. For some people I believe its meaningful for some people but it all depend on the reason some buy for Christmas and some just buy for the hell of it.
Thanksgiving post
My thanksgiving was really good, ate allot of food got to catch on family issues, saw friends and was able to come together as one without any arguments or disagreements it was very meaningful for me. Genocide has never and I don’t think it would ever come up in a thanksgiving dinner discussion. Since my family does celebrate thanksgiving genocide is our least worry, for families who don’t celebrate thanksgiving are the ones who bring up the topic or value what happen within the day about genocide. This culture ritual is only meaningful to certain families because each family is different and were brought up different. I am glad that my family celebrates thanksgiving because all the food I get to eat think about it? if you was family who didn’t celebrate you would not be eating all the food. By the way I was brought up I say by far my life is meaningful.

COPORATE MESSAGES
In the world today many advertisements, play a big role because that's a way of selling corporate messages we don;'t really see the real meaning, what i mean is by that, is there trying to get us in debt for some of the people in the world allot of the deals we get offer sounds great but for some people they know they wont be able to keep up with paying bills and etc. we just pay attention to what is shown to us many of the websites today are colorful to keep us alert many of the messages are in like a neon colors to attract our attention. It's also like we are being control by the pictures and quotes. Many cell phone companies such as Verizon, t-mobile, AT&T also having a special way of showing corporate messages by making offers to our best ability. We as the people are always trying to get the best deal, so they try to sell us the best phones for example "if u don't save up and get our company bundle pack" your not associated with culture, your not down with the brown, your not apart of the community your a lame and will never be apart of society. They don't actually make you feel that way but that's their way of making people left out, until u buy their product. That hows corporate messages get our minds by offer something that we like to hear and putting it in words and pictures and that what attracts us.
Second example of how to live a meaningful life is to stay healthy be fit, don't be fat, fat is a worse thing you could be now a days that's what corporate messages provide us in the world today. Many commercials make people feel that way because their either fat or just not in the best shape. For example commercials that show before and after pictures make people feel like o I could do that I could make that effort let me call 1800-674-FIT. Allot of the media websites set out examples of how to stay fit like be beautiful look like Hilary Duff or eat right http://www.stayfiteatright.org/root/index.html I looked at this website on 11/18/2008.. This is a clear example soon as you enter the website in big colorful letters it says to " LOOKING GOOD CALIFORNIA WITH HILARY DUFF GREAT CONTESTS AND HEALTHY LIVING TIPS OR TEENS". Under the title it has famous people all around the world, who agree with the looking good for future out come. The website site it self wants us to acknowledge the message by having other famous people below to back up the message.
Third example I would like to point out are the dominate and marginal messages, That apply to media. In order to get a full understand what dominate messages are, they are messages that make you feel about yourself like loss weight commericals eat health, HAVE NICE ABS, be popular, There messages that we recognized every day. Marginal messages are messages that we rarely see but intimidates other sub cultures. Some examples of dominate messages that we are able to see every day are through out movies to be this idea of the Best having money is the best way to live your life, or have the most friends stay popular stay on top. There are so many dominate messages that could be mention, the reason why think dominate messages or are recognized are because every day something new happens and people are able to make something dominate about it. Marginal message seem only to come up once in a blue moon because they are rarely recognized we only see marginal messages when you disect message and see the clear meaning of what it actually means. Some examples of marginal messages that i was able to observe were the Matrix, Tupac shakur-Changes, Fight Club are examples of marginal messages.
Since there are all types of corporate messages in the world it would be hard to categorized them all, but as i look an analyzed each of the messages they all fall in a category of trying to stay healthy, get rich or die trying, be popular, be the best, stay on top and finally live a meaningful life/just live your life.

Movies that were recently viewed were, Pump Up the Volume , Fire fox and lastly Fight Club, and Chicken Run through these movies were many marginal dominate and prohibited messages that were express through out words and emotions. In the movie fight club the messages that stood out to me the most were when Brad Pit said " Consumers are objects to lifestyle obsession" which is very true because we all love to do is shop spend money and etc. We are all consider as consumers whatever the media sell us we buy but is that a meaningful way to live having designer name on underwear, having 500 TV channels is this the best way to live for some us yes it is because we are consumers ready to spend money on stuff we don't need or to entertained us as life goes on day by day. This connects to marginal messages because we live in a world full of products ready to be sold this obligation of money is need for living a good life. Without money or the dumb stuff we buy today that we don't need what some us don't see is that we need to put it to something that might benefit us in the long run we worried but we worried about having the most fresh kicks or even having up to date electronics and etc.
In the movie Pump up the volume, it's very original before the movie even starts they show items that are out of the ordinary stuff that people don't buy Hard Harry the main person in the movie likes name brand stuff people never heard thats he's way of being different in society examples that showed this was tapes not even cd's that were produce by authors names that are hard to pronounce are never thought of. Beng different from soceity makes you stand out cause other look at you to hero, or even so a person to look up to, to start a new trend.
In the movie Chicken Run you can see the different types of social class that were showed in the movie such as the chicken was in the lower class being controlled by the higher class which were the people who owned the chickens and of course the middle class which was the dogs.
Trampled Wal-Mart worker post
It is ridiculous that people are running over people just for merchandise they don’t need, half the stuff we buy today we don’t even use today. So for someone to run over some and not even bother to help them back up, it’s crazy I think. We are all greedy consumers and because of our actions take over, we feel the need to buy every item; however we don’t pay attention to others even if it cause someone to get trampled over. This is a prime of example of how we live today, we are so caught up with buying new electronics, clothes and jewelry that we don’t buy stuff we need. We live with merchandise we don’t need when we could give it away to someone else to use it to their benefit. Our culture is full of consumers and black Friday proves that. Living in a capitalist society this is what happens we tend to spend money instead of saving.
Black Friday/BND post
On the day of Black Friday I did not shop, only because this year I really didn’t want anything, I felt that I had everything I wanted.
So waking up in the morning fighting to get in line wasn’t a concern for me. Our culture rituals are that when stores have major sales its means time to shop till you drop. For some people this day is an important day because it gives them a chance to buy stuff they couldn’t afford before but since black Friday is full of sales people are able to buy what they want.
By the way I was brought up I say by far my life is meaningful.

what do people usaully say about living meaningful?
Well many people around where I live, living in a dangerous society most people value there life being able to wake up the next morning knowing that god is giving the chance to experience the daily life, as to a white man living in beautiful home and safe environment. Majority of the people who go to church value their religion the most because it leads them in the positive direction and that make people life even more meaningful, when they know that they are saved by god. I interview my friend Travis and he thought that just being a football player was the most meaningful part of his life because football gives him a chance to release stress or anger that is already built inside of him. Since football was a family tradition his older used to play right before he passed away. So living and striving thru the lost of a sibling made him play even more it enhance him to follow his brother lead and that what he thought was meaningful.
My other friend Presley said basically taking care of his family his son and daughter and making sure that they are well take care of, knowing that they’re going to be successful, getting a successful job was the last meaningful thing he listed because living in a capitalist society involves money so to able to live in a capitalist society you need money so getting a job is the best way to solve that problem. Basically he thought that family was the most value thing because family comes first no matter what a successful career leads to a successful life.
Thirdly I had ask my whole family and they all name different things for example I ask my mom she said taking care the family being able to communicate with them from time to time was the most meaningful thing to them because family means the most. Secondly she said having a job was the most meaningful being able to pay bills and to keep a roof over our heads living in a family of 5, making sure their food to eat. I ask my mom if she had to pick one she said immediately said family cause nothing can go against family. Next person was my uncle first he said was family then getting his self back on track with finding a job to help him in his finical problems and lastly he said making his music expand because he makes beats and d jays for people parties making a living off of that. Next person was my sister, she automatically said making money and then family I ask why? Family second she told me because in order to support your family you need money which she did have a point I said what about love she automatic said how love going to pay the bills. According to living meaningful she said that money would have to be her main. Next up was my cousin she told us living life having fun and her car was the most meaningful only because driving became a part of her life since she hates public transportation living meaningful is a very broad question because it could lead to so much and more.
In class we were assign to go outside and interview random people on the street and ask what is the most meaningful part of their life, or on a scale of 1-10 what is the most meaningful or what is the least meaningful thing in your life and how can you make it better all these living meaningful questions were asked to many individuals. There was a gentlemen who I asked and he said family and then money and then his regular hobbies he do each and every day to make his life meaningful I ask him on a scale of 1-10 what would you rate your meaningful living life he reply and said a 8.5 I ask does that point 5 make a difference he said yea because that’s how life is to me. I ask other gentlemen he was a taxi driver he automatically responded with a direct answer I said how u feel about your job do you think it’s meaningful he said that it’s the worse job in history I recommend that you never do this job ever but it pays good the that’s the only way it keeps him doing it. He said taxi drivers get very good money I ask him is there anything else he reply and said that family was the meaningful thing in his life which I can understand because mostly everyone says that first. The last question I ask he reply by saying I think I waste my time doing the taxi job but knowing I still have my family means allot. I ask on a scale of 1-10 he said 7 was the score he gave his meaningful life which could explain why because he really didn’t feel for his job and he thought it was a waste of time but he made money from it to support his family members.
Based on the interviews I did you could clearly see how family/friends put certain things first and second and compare them. Usually the third thing people would say is a hobby or obligations. This is simply a pattern because most of my friends and family put family first and the money last maybe because that’s the way they feel towards life everyone has a different opinions in there life and its up to them to live it the way they want. Based on society today we can make note that everyone sees life in a different lens and value it in many different ways it all depends on how they value it and take it within. Living meaningful is like a domino affect it keep going until you pass away and buried in the ground.

Meaningful project
Analysis Insight Questions

History D-4
ANALYSIS & INSIGHT
What have you included in this Video?
I included everything that was meaningful to me, like hobbies things I did with my family, pets, chilling with friends making some kind of movement. I included many things with my family because my family comes first and that means allot to me so I cherish allot of moments with them. I included types of music I listen to everyday because it’s meaningful to me, the music I listen to keeps me going everyday and music plays a role in my life. I included something I wanted to do as a career I want to have my own clothing store making all the best types of t-shirts, so I included some examples that is similar to my t-shirts that I would make in the future.
What parts of the video related to relatively meaningful aspects of your life?
Well getting up every morning of my life knowing that I am I still in the world today means allot to me I lost many of my friends because either drugs violence or etc. During the summer I work which was one of my main aspects in the world today to get motivated and head in a positive direction, especially living in capitalist society money involves everything. Doing things over the summer was very meaningful to me but might be different to someone else.
What would you have liked to included but weren’t able to?
I would have like to included more things that I wish I have token a picture of but didn’t so that I cud show more aspects to the way I see my life being more meaningful. I would have like to included more pictures of where I am from to represent where I live which is Queens and I would have like to show that Far Rockaway isn’t all that bad, I would have took pictures of the summer youth program showing that these kids today trying to do the right thing with their lives.
What seem to be some of the main criteria you use (emotionally, +/or mentally) to assess how meaningful aspect of your life is?
I use allot of exciting moments of my life because those were the most meaningful moments. I feel that the most exciting moments of my life brings out my personality because when I get old in age I cud share with my kids that I did something meaningful with my life and not have a meaningless. I had some sad moments of my life that were meaningful to, because for people who have past such as friends and family and etc losing someone in your life knowing that you not going to see them ever again, is meaningful because you think about the times yall spent together and made the best of it.
What’s going on with your way of life? What seems to be the general pattern or direction or point or situation?
The only pattern that I see within my life is that I am going to school making something meaningful out of it to help me in the future to have a better successful future.
My life is going very good so far I just wish I had a job that would pay me good money and what I mean is a job that pay like 18 and up and hour jobs but otherwise that I am doing good.
Looking at the video as a whole- is it honest /accurate depiction of your life?
Looking as it as whole I think it’s accurate because if it weren’t then that would mean I wish my life was like this or in some case, similar to something else. My life is exactly similar to the movie I made just that I didn’t take pictures of my everyday life aspects at every second.
Does your life seem meaningful from an outside perspective? Is it from an inside perspective? Why?
My life seems more meaningful looking through the outside because the aspects I experience is from the world today and with out the world I wouldn’t have certain achievements to show my accomplishment so by looking at my life from a outside perspective makes me visualize and realize that everything going good within my life.
What questions do you have about living a meaningful life at this point?
I have No questions

Government policy is when important people come together and form some kind of effort showing that they care for society and trying to help and provide us some help to make our community a better place or even a better country. Government policy has affect on adults because of welfare, this is really important because people who have jobs and work really hard the Government, still takes out taxes out there pay check.
This might really have an affect on each individual because some people might not have allot of money and for people to work over time and all this extra hard work it really doesn’t pay off because when The government still takes out taxes. It feels like you did not work as hard as you think you did. Many adults live under welfare like social security, child support, child support is important in reality because the government sees it like if you gradually separate your wife or husband. If you get divorced or leave and that child and it is rightfully yours and you don’t show no parenting, feeding, buying clothes, making sure you child get what it deserves, then the government has that right to be able to make you pay child support you have no choice rather you like it or not this would be no discussion IT’ IS THE GOVERNMENT POLICY.
Another example of government policy is that people do crimes they automatically go to jail and depending on the crime; they’re either sentence to whatever time the judge says or on probation. For most of the crimes today many people go straight to seeing the judge because that’s the policy. When people park in the wrong areas on the street, each and ever is bound to get ticket, all you have to do is park in the right places or don’t drive at all. So many people complain about the government doing this and that, but the only way things going to change if someone does something about and Obama and Hilton are the ones who are trying to make a change. Once something set as government policy its hard change.
In the world today many people think the government does all this bad stuff you got to think outside the box even though majority of the time, the government makes bad decisions, but the otherwise the government pros are that they set out allot of programs for teenagers and kids so that they have something to do instead of getting into trouble, with drugs and violence.
The government makes these summer programs, boys and girls club, and Y.M.C.A, and lastly PAL all these programs have been around for years and that’s a way to show society that’s how the government cares. No to mention theses programs really help out like they have many activities like basketball tournaments that my self have participated in many times.
Government policy doesn’t affects teens as much as adults because we don’t have many bills to pay only our cell phone bill for some of us. But it really kills when your adult that’s why so many people hate the government and what they do sometimes don’t make any sense. Government does look out for many teens, because teens are more sexual active then adults. Speaking for teens there got to be at least 20 new born babies a day because of sexually active teens, now since the government so call cares about us we have pass the law for abortion and have many programs through school to keep there baby safe and well taking care of. While teens are getting their education.
Summer youth jobs contributes to government policies because they allowed Teens who didn’t get a job for the summer to actually contribute to the community and help out things that need to be done. Summer youth jobs are good it give each individual teen to actually have experience for future careers that they want to succeed in.
Government policy affects kids either organizing them through catholic schools and public school, some parents prefer private so that they can focus more so they can constrate. But some parents prefer public because they don really care or they just send them to school cause they know what needs to be done. Government policy really doesn’t have an affect because they don’t know too much about it when they’re young.
How does government policy affect elder, well here why when you turn a certain age like 65 the government forces you to quit your job. I believed that’s wrong because I think everyone should work according to however they long as they live, but since it’s a government policy no one can change that. Social security is very important when connecting it to elderly people because its wrong to go into someone check and take out taxes, when taking out taxes the government rightfully go within your check and depending on balance they take away a certain amount which I think it’s wrong the government should pay the whole amount as we the people work for.

Capitalism is involved with money wealth and profit; capital is a word that is in capitalism that means wealth invested to up wealth, Capitalism is involved with huge amounts of money, to keep capitalism alive the world today it, needs more business. For the people who aren’t a capitalist they stand in like a poor class because they aren’t that rich enough to invest or do something with their money that would top a typical capitalist person.
Capitalism affects us today because everyone that is not rich there are many social classes that may fit there financial problems. Capitalism is all about money wealth and profit it is always going to have an affect on the United States because we all cant be rich there is always going to be down fall that’s why social class is important. When referring to these roles Government policy, Social norms and finally Capitalist. They all have an affect on us.
In society today we have a system of capitalism everywhere in the world is capitalism you cant run a ways from capitalism. We live a capitalism lifestyle. Capitalism affect many adults as they life goes on there are many examples of how capitalism play a role such as getting paid, buying houses, working, paying rent, government, paying for college going to the store, everything that has to with money has affect on adults and many other people in society.
I believe that social class is very important when considering certain families and looking through how they live there life, some families are more lucky than other but the best way to live your life is to strive my personal opinion because you get to go through obstacles the right and wrongs you experience more for example rags to riches most people who are poor and wine up making it to the top are the most successful and knows how to handle situations.
The people who have their life handed to them are successful but they don’t know how to handle certain situations where if they was get rob or anything. This affects capitalism because we get to see how people who start off with nothing and end up with something capitalism can be bad and also good depending on how well you take advantage of it.
Capitalism affect many adults living the life as an adult you think its easy but its not, all adults pay bill that’s a sign of capitalism taking money from you to give to the capital is capitalism. Paying off expensive cars, such as car notes insurance are all signs of capitalism no matter what the situation is capitalism is going to be a part of it. Capitalism is like a big corporation trying to make a hustle of every citizen that works there butt off to feed their family or benefit themselves in life. Capitalism plays a big role in adult’s lives because we are capitalism we live it.
In the world today many young adults including my self don’t pay too much attention to how capitalism controls our life and what we do and how we spend it. Capitalism is everything not one not two everything, capital means the top, someone in charge, capitalism is the same thing but there many people who have money and who feels in charge.
Capitalism hasn’t hit many young adults these days because as long as there parents gives money to them they don’t think about the what ifs or the cause and effect. Looking besides the fact that our parents depends on the jobs the jobs is depended on the hours the hour is depend on the person it’s a cycle.
Many young adults in the world today have this sense of looking at the world as if it was two money vs. solidarity. Many people but Young adults mostly look at the world, as being money, under the word money there is competition, profit, bottom line, quality and rational all these words describes young adults competition is most valuable one in the world today because everyone wants to be on top competition especially in FASHION.
Fashion is a big influence on kids these days not even young adults babies wear pradas, coach shoes, soon as a baby is born he/she wrap around in a true religion towel or something. But if you don’t have a pair of designer jeans then others look at you if you as if you poor or if you not getting “money” that’s how we put it. Capitalism is important without money how would we survive where would we stand.
Without capitalism And the money spent on technology and how young adults have sidekicks and I pods and zunes and I phones all these things are important to us. What if all that stop and capitalism stop spending so much money in electronics how do you think how society would react. Young adults would be all on the same social class their want be no competition because capitalism would have stopped its cycle. Capitalism is very important within our world today because we are made up of money and without capitalism cycle we wont have it.
How has capitalism affect elderly people? Well here are some examples; retirement has played out within many elderly ages. Of course we seem to blame, evolution by letting time fly past us we start to rotten. Retirement has been affecting elderly people more than any other ages because as you get old get more slow and not gain as much energy to make it to work back and forth every day. This affects capitalism because the United States wants people to work so they can take more taxes away from people and make more money, and by elderly people retiring this might have and affect on our economy. Capitalism means MONEY so by something affecting capitalism means affecting money.
Health care is provided to everyone but why does it cost so much? I mean it should be free to keep our fellow Americans working, health care should be the main priority. Usually the older you are if your under a certain health insurance if the medicine too much to pay then capitalism is on your side and actually helps you pay for the medicine you need to live on another day. Capitalism is meant to stay on top of things so in order for the government to stay on top of things, the most important thing is to take care the people first. Majority of medicines today do cost allot of money don’t know why but that’s how capitalism works out.
Social Norms are action and things that we do and that we don’t realize that are appropriate for time and place. Examples of social norms are like picking your nose, farting, burping, spiting constantly and many more, Social are apart of everyone lives we all do something that is weird or is a habit or something we just don’t realize. Social norms affect people around us because if we, if see something or someone, we would want to change it because something is either going to lead up to a problem or we find it annoying. Social norms not only play out in teenagers but it plays a role in every age such as elderly, toddler, and adults. Social norms has affected us but can be fixed. A way capitalism plays a role in America is that most of the people in the world today are fans of capitalism.
In society today people do not think too much about social norms, they most likely just do them. It is more like something their use to doing many people do not say, “Oops I just did a social norm”, and there more likely do the same process over repeatedly. When considering an elderly person there more likely to do everything 3 or 4 times no offense but that is evolution. Looking back to teenage life, they are more worried about fashion then their own health all the kids now a days try some how to keep up with the latest brand or latest sneakers. The difference between elderly is that concentrated on health issues. It is a social norm for them to worry about them selves before anything if you notice.
Living as a teenager social norm is a very big part of life and many other teenagers who live around me. Social norm is obvious but we as teenagers don’t really pay attention a prime example fashion is and will always play a big role with our life because if we don’t catch up with the latest fashion we as young adults look as if we don’t have money, it all depends on the group and person. Many teenagers like to get FRESH and what that means is to have money keep up with up to date clothing brands getting a fresh cut no bummy hairline, and fresh kicks. If you don’t have close to that you probably not going to be down with the crew.
Another social norm that plays apart in our life as young adults, is that we tend to always wake up to go to school it’s a social norm for use to wake up every morning to go to school, we don’t have to but we do so to better our future. That what we have to do a social norm has it role in every little way. Social norms always and will have an affect on us because we cant escape the social norms, its apart of us. Social norms are everywhere. Social norms can affect us negative and positive ways but it all depends on how we take it.
Not to mention but adults also have social norms many adults seem to have responsibilities which turn into social norms cause they constantly do it over and over again. It’s a social norm for females, when they go out they have to get the right dress the right shoes everything has to be right its normal. Social norms are things that are normal but we do it so much it becomes socially apart of our life that’s why till this day now females are always looking good when they go out. Speaking for a male when we go out we has to make sure we are on point nice shoes nice shirt smell good. When adults have kids there main priority is to put their kids first and always it’s a social norm for them to take care there them before themselves. Social norms are good because it takes care things that needs to be done and fix.
Social norms are an everyday thing, for example when voting time is coming up it is a very important social norm for elderly people to vote. I know because my grandmother always makes sure she votes and other people her age. It is a social norm for elderly people to tell long stories about their life back in the 90’s and 80’s to their grand children. Every body grand parents have stories about them growing up that’s just life.
Elderly people are more likely to play lotto more then adults because its easier to when money, when all elderly people do is sit around and do nothing it’s a social norm for them to play lotto and scratch away there life to they see 20,00 appear on the little ticket. Social norms are very important in society today because it give us a chance to see what we done in the past its shows progression within our daily life. Social norms would never stop it will continue forever.
